A local dealer has a backhoe attachment off a JD 450 loader. I would like to put it on my Ford 4610. The hoe is about the size of the one on a Case 480, so it is pretty good size. He said it would attach to my 3pt, but I would probably weld up a mount for the frame. Would this be a wise decision? This is a used unit and is not on a machine at this time. What should I look for to see if it is any good. I do know the dealer and he will stand by it, but he obviously won't guarantee it forever.

A straight 3 pt. hoe will tear your tractor in two.Look for bushing wear at the joints.if there is slop.they will need to be replaced.A frame mount is a lot better but beware that you don't put more into it than you can get back. ....
